Throughout the following lines, we aim to offer a review on the book Las poetas cubanas: lo cubano, lo contemporáneo, by Milena Rodríguez Gutiérrez (2023), lecturer and researcher of Hispanic American literature at University of Granada (Spain). The volume comes as a kind of genealogy of contemporary Cuban female poets, who are both inside and outside the corners of the island, where Rodríguez provides each author of “a room of their own,” through interdisciplinary tools, so her work turns out to be a thoughtful anthology of female writers.
