Technology and Tourism 4.0 and Student Perception in Professional Internships at UAEMEX 90 32

The fourth industrial revolution, like tourism, is a phenomenon, and thus, they are connected. The first revolution, and tourism, is an evolution of competencies, knowledge, adaptability, influence, and innovation. Technology 4.0 responds to the development of digital competencies and skills, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, adaptability, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, in-person and remote recording and progress, as well as resilience and technological skills, all of which are required by the academic sector and, consequently, the workforce. The tourism sector has experienced rapid technological growth and profound transformation, giving rise to the concept of Tourism 4.0. In these times of constant change and technological advancement, digital skills have become essential for professionals dedicated to this sector. Therefore, we aim to analyze the role that Technology 4.0 has played and continues to play in the development of various competencies, as well as its application in the professional practices of students in their final semester of the Bachelor's Degree in Tourism and Gastronomy at UAEMex. The methodology will be mix quantitative and qualitative, allowing for descriptive interpretation of results using an instrument applied to the afore mentioned students. This instrument emphasizes the relationship between Technology 4.0 and its application in the students' professional practices, as well as their meaningful learning. This approach aims to determine how students incorporate Technology 4.0 into their professional practices and its usefulness for their development as future Tourism and Gastronomy graduates.
