The circular economy (CE) represents a sustainable alternative to the linear model of production and consumption by focusing on the efficient use of resources and the reduction of waste. In the case of microenterprises, its adoption entails several challenges related to lack of knowledge, insufficient training, and operational limitations. In this context, the objective of the present study is to describe the level of knowledge, attitudes, environmental perception, and implementation of CE practices in microenterprises located in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche. Using a quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental, and cross-sectional approach, a structured questionnaire was administered to 269 microenterprise managers. The instrument covered four dimensions: cognitive, affective, environmental perception, and CE practices, measured using a five-point Likert scale. The results revealed a positive attitude toward the CE, along with a favorable environmental perception. Similarly, adequate levels of knowledge and a moderate implementation of circular practices were identified, suggesting a positive but still developing trend. These findings reflect a favorable attitudinal foundation for the transition toward circular models; however, they also highlight the need to strengthen technical capacities, improve access to relevant information, and provide institutional support. It is therefore concluded that it is necessary to design training programs, incentive mechanisms, and inter-enterprise collaboration strategies that promote sustainability at the local level.
