This article highlights the importance of properly managing psychosocial risk factors among employees in any organization, especially those working in a government agency in the State of Mexico. Psychosocial risk factors can endanger the occupational safety and well-being of workers, potentially causing damage and deterioration in their physical and mental health. They may also reduce productivity, harm the quality of task performance, and hinder the achievement of institutional goals and objectives. This research also examines the physical symptoms caused by stress, considered the main psychosocial risk in the workplace. According to the report “Stress at Work: A Collective Challenge” published in 2016 by the ILO (International Labour Organization), stress is classified as having a negative impact in the workplace. It is regarded as the first sign of physical and emotional damage and can create an imbalance between job demands and the resources workers perceive as available to perform their tasks.
