Abstract

The Mexican border with the United States, especially in California, represents an economic movement for both countries, so the decision-making by its leaders in the customs sector is important due to its implications, labor, legal, movement of merchandise, transportation, werehouse, import, export and everything that this implies. Study the leadership style (visionary, coaching, affiliative, democratic, helmsman and authoritarian) that mostly occurs together with impact factors such as the training of leaders, their integration into the company, their communication processes, their intensity of motivation. Their working conditions as well as psychosocial risks are important elements that impact the work environment, productivity and results. This study presents the results of two surveys, one applied to leaders of this customs sector and the other to their subordinates. It was found that the leadership style that most prevails is the visionary and is followed by the affiliative, and the one that is last, the one that is least presentes is the authoritarian, this result was agreed upon by both the leaders and the opinion of the subordinates. Regarding the factor that most prevails and is fundamental for the direction of these companies, they are the communication processes and the least prevalent are the psychosocial risk factors.
