A perspective from the perspective of social justice in the Dominican Republic

This paper examines the economic impact of judicial decisions on the Right to Work in the Dominican Republic over the past decade, from a legal, social, and economic perspective. Through a qualitative approach based on jurisprudential analysis and interviews with key actors in the legal and labor system, discursive patterns and concrete effects of court rulings on the labor market are identified. Specifically, 25 labor rulings were analyzed, and 12 semi-structured interviews were conducted with key stakeholders. The study argues that these decisions significantly affect economic stability, employment equity, and the shaping of public policies, highlighting the role of the State and the Judiciary as guarantors of social justice. It concludes that the judicialization of the right to work can serve as a tool for strengthening sustainable development and the protection of fundamental rights.
